£40. My first experience at marshalling was in South Africa when I
had chance to assist
on the Total Rally and then the Suikerbos Endurance Rally. Like all
good "Vaalies" my toy has a Toyota Hi-lux - the joke of the time being
that the Transvaal had the highest number of 4x4's in the country
- and not a hill in sight! To compensate my favourite play area was
driving along the surf line beside the Indian Ocean. Back in the UK
in 1998 Dave kindly offered me a seat in the back of his 110 for a
recovery session on the Network Q rally which was the start of the
project to own and operate my own vehicle. I have now completed my
licence to crew and am always willing to crew for others to build
up my experience (just ask!). The Discovery is also kitted out for
radio marshalling and I am rapidly gaining experience in this area Having a PEAK RECOVERY call sign is like being a member of an extended family - my face might not be well known on the circuits yet but PEAK RECOVERY always ensures a warm welcome.
